The Butte Challenge is the most established community walk/run in Eastern Oregon and the Columbia Corridor Corredores Race Series.  Under the direction of Jeanne Jewett, and with the generous support of the East Oregonian, Hermiston Herald, countless sponsors and volunteers the event has grown each year.
Enthusiastic participants in the largest field assembled in Butte Challenge history embark on the challenge.
The Butte Challenge is the BIGGEST fund raiser for the Hermiston Cross Country Program (Girls & Boys, Middle School & High School).  All profits from this event benefit Hermiston's youth running programs.  In 2013, more people than ever participated in the Butte Challenge than in any race in its 14 year history.  The profits from this and other races in the CCC Race Series enable the Hermiston Cross Country program to train, travel, and compete at the highest level possible.

Combined team champions in the Runner's Soul XC Fest.
On behalf of the Hermiston Cross Country Program, thank you for supporting us by participating, volunteering, and/or donating to the Butte Challenge.

The last few years' races have been chip timed by Eastern Oregon Sports Training.  To see results from the last few years, please visit the results page: RESULTS
